Even more so than fires, medical emergencies put the greatest toll on the Forsyth County Fire Department; over half of the more-than 13,000 incidents it responded to last year were medically related.

Fires, fire alarms and smoke investigations accounted for slightly more than 12 percent of responses, and motor vehicle accidents, about 8 percent.

These and other facts can be found in the 2015 annual reports for the Forsyth County Fire Department and for Forsyth County. Both reports are available at the Forsyth Administration Building, 110 E. Main St. The fire report also is available at the Public Safety Complex, 3520 Settingdown Road, and at all fire stations. Links to online versions are posted at: http://bit.ly/1Yo6kAj

The county report provides information on the government’s projects and progress, financial data and such 2015 highlights as the opening of the new County Courthouse and Jail, and the groundbreaking for Matt Community Park. The fire report talks about the department’s divisions, stations, apparatus, Fire Millage Tax and services provided.
