More contracts okayed for Cobb Public Safety Training Center

An additional $689,814 for two contracts were approved on March 26 by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners for the new Public Safety Training Center, 2435 East-West Connector, Austell.

One contract was awarded to Croft & Associates PC for $550,000 for full architectural and engineering services.

The other contract went to Groover Fence Co. for $139,814 for commercial fence and gate installation around the former BJ’s Wholesale Club.

This 115,369-square-foot structure was built in 2003 on nearly 20 acres and purchased for $10,750,000 by Cobb County in 2018 to house the Police Training facility.

On March 12, a $1,024,183 contract with Garland/Design Build Solutions, Inc. was granted by the commissioners to restore the existing exterior wall and roof.

Funding is from the 2016 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
