The mother of a Douglas County High School football player has been charged with transferring thousands of dollars from the team's booster club to her personal account, Channel 2 Action News reports.

Tina Sealey, the booster club's treasurer, is officially charged with fraud and illegal use of credit cards. Booster club president Robert Hale-Burrell told Channel 2 he noticed unexplained money transfers and credit card charges from the club's account dating back to last summer.

Hale-Burrell said the booster club is short $6,250 -- money that would have gone toward purchasing new equipment for the team.

"It breaks our heart because I've known her so long," he told Channel 2.
