A Cobb County mother is accused of locking her 1-year-old son in her SUV while she shopped for 20 minutes, according to police.

Cecile Berniece McDonald, 29, allegedly left the boy in her Ford Explorer, which wasn't running, while she shopped in the Burlington Coat Factory store on Terrell Mill Road in Marietta, according to the arrest warrant obtained by the AJC. The temperature outside was 88 degrees while the boy was in the vehicle, police said.

The baby was transported to the hospital for treatment of dehydration, the warrant states.

McDonald, of Marietta, was arrested Friday evening when she came out of the store. She was charged with first degree child cruelty, a felony, and booked into the Cobb County jail, where she remained Wednesday evening, jail records show.

McDonald's bond was set at $10,000.
