Gail Luxenberg has been appointed the new executive director and CEO of the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta.

Luxenberg begins the new post on Dec. 1.

She replaces Howard Hyman, who has been interim CEO for the past 15 months. Hyman will rejoin the center's governance board.

Luxenberg holds a bachelor's degree in Middle Eastern studies and an MBA in marketing and organizational behavior from the University of Chicago.  Most recently, she served as executive director of the Jewish Vocational Service in Chicago.
