A 12-year-old girl who was missing after not catching her assigned bus after school was found safe, Norcross police said.

Melanie Lopez had last been seen at Summerour Middle School at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and was reported missing around 7:30 p.m., authorities said.

Police were notified around 10:30 p.m. that the girl had been located and was back with her family.
