An 84-year-old Ball Ground man with dementia who had been missing since Thursday afternoon has been found safe.

Tommie Barber left his home around 2:30 p.m., then called his family around 7 p.m. to say he was lost, authorities said. He was found in Gilmer County in north Georgia, said Lt. Howard J. Baker of the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.
