The Milton City council has let a $11,266 contract to Prime Contractors Inc. renovate space at the former City Hall building still occupied by the Police Department and Municipal Court.

Milton government offices moved in March to a newly built City Hall at 2006 Heritage Walk in the Crabapple District. The Police Department and Municipal Court remained in rented quarters at 13000 Deerfield Parkway, occupying about half as much space as the city did previously.

“This renovation project will provide space that is slightly larger and more suitable for the two departments to function efficiently,” Milton Facilities Manager Dennis Miller said in a memo to the council. “Once construction begins, the project should take two to three weeks to complete.”
