The Milton City Council has advanced proposals to pay $50 per meeting to members of four city boards and commissions.
The Council recently approved a resolution and ordinance to provide compensation to Milton Parks and Recreation Advisory Board members. A proposal notes that a resolution adopted Dec. 1, 2008 to create the parks board did not authorize compensation for its members.
Also, the Council accepted on first presentation an ordinance to compensate members of the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals and Design Review Board. The measure is scheduled to return to the Council on Jan. 30.
Both proposals become effective upon a final majority vote by the Council and ratification by the mayor.
