The Milton City Council has approved having the North Atlanta Football League provide youth tackle football, flag football and cheerleading programs.

The council approved a Parks and Recreation Department Athletic Association Manual and Facility Use Agreement with the Football League, which will offer football programming and camps at Bell Memorial Park, Hopewell Middle School and Cogburn Woods Elementary School, according to a staff report to the council.

The league will have use of facilities from 4 to 10 p.m. weekdays, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 10 p.m. Sundays, June 1 to Dec. 31. It will collect a 15 percent commission on every registration. Residents of Milton and Alpharetta will not have to pay the $100 out-of-city fee charged of non-residents.

A 15 percent commission and the out-of-city fees will be split by the two cities, with Milton receiving one-third and Alpharetta, two-thirds, based on Milton providing one artificial turf field for football, and Alpharetta, two artificial turf fields, staff said.
