The Milton City Council Wednesday night voted to formally accept the resignation of City Manager Chris Lagerbloom. Lagerbloom will become assistant city manager in Fort Lauderdale and his last day will be Feb. 12.

Council members also named police chief Steven Krokoff as interim city manager. Krokoff joined the city in March of 2015 from Albany, New York.

“It was fun birthing a city,” Lagerbloom told council members at his final meeting, “and it’s been an amazing journey.”

A former public safety director, Lagerbloom has been on board since the city’s 2006 interception and had served as interim manager himself on three different occasions before taking the job permanently in 2009.
