A Milton man is still in jail after being arrested July 3 for allegedly exposing his genitals to children at a neighborhood pool, according to police reports.

Milton Police were dispatched to a community off Alpharetta Highway at about 6:30 p.m. and were told by residents that a heavyset man had been sitting by the pool staring at two young girls while they were swimming. One resident noted that the man, James Flatau, had a tear in his swim trunks, exposing himself.

The two children also said that Flatau, 52, had been swimming in the pool with them earlier in a way that made them uncomfortable, causing them to get out of the pool.

Flatau left the pool before police arrived, but witnesses directed them to where he lived. When approached by police and asked what happened at the pool, Flatau responded "I didn't show it to anybody," according to the report.

Flatau was cited for child molestation and, if convicted, may need to register as a sex offender.
