Milton High marching band student to perform in U.S. Army All-American Bowl game

U.S. Army All-American Bowl invited 125 high school marching band students, including one from Milton High School.

Milton High School student's achievements on the marching band field has earned her a trip to next year's U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Officials with the U.S. Army All-American Bowl said Katarina Wilcher will perform in the All-American Marching Band during the nationally-televised game at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Wilcher, who plays the bass drum for Milton High, is one of 125 high school students nationally selected  to the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band roster. Wilcher is one of 12 students selected from Georgia to participate in the event.

U.S Army All-American Marching Band and bowl game officials traveled to Milton High School on Sept. 28, where local soldiers presented Wilcher with an honorary jacket in front of her family and classmates.

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl game is televised annually and recognizes the top high school football players from across the country. The game will air on Jan. 7, 2017 on NBC.
