It’s time for spring cleaning.

Or maybe summer cleaning?

Whatever time of year it is, you probably have some junk that has built up in your house, garage, shed or yard. If you’re a Milton resident, you can get rid of most of the things you don’t want — for free — on Aug. 19.

Milton will host its Bulky Trash Amnesty Day from 8 a.m. to noon at the Roswell Department of Public Works at 1810 Hembree Road. To participate, junk dumpers must bring proof of Milton residency.

Things that you can drop off include: mattresses, box springs, tires, sofas, tables, chairs, refrigerators, washers, dryers, cell phones, grills, lawnmowers and electronics — excluding televisions and monitors.

Other things you can’t dump include paint, household hazardous waste, coolant, oil, batteries, construction material, demolition materials and yard waste.
