Milton Public Works employees will be busy in the coming weeks with pavement edging, tending the sides of open roads without curbs and gutters, the city announced.

Now through the end of March, crews will be removing growth immediately adjacent to the pavement, leaving what initially appears to be a dirt edge on the side of the road – a routine process that “helps ensure water is effectively removed from the roadways,” the city said.

The edging is done in anticipation of the spring growth cycle. It will prepare the pavement for the second phase of work: scheduled right-of-way mowing that will take place monthly beginning in April and continuing through October.
