Milton awards asphalt repair contract
Milton has awarded a paving services contract affecting more than two dozen streets in the city. AJC FILE
The Milton City Council has awarded Bartow Paving Co. Inc. a contract for asphalt reconstruction and resurfacing of more than two dozen streets.
Bartow Paving’s $2.5 million bid was the lowest of three bids for the job, according to a staff report to the council.
The contractor will reconstruct and overlay Taylor Road from Batesville Road to 14850 Taylor; resurface and patch Hopewell Road from about 14770 Hopewell to northern Thompson Road, and Redd Road from Hopewell to Freemanville Road; patch Longstreet, Freemanville and 15755 Hopewell roads; and improve the intersection of Redd and Hopewell.
The contract also calls for resurfacing and patching 13 residential streets, and patching and surface treatments of 10 streets.
