The Milton City Council has awarded a $40,000 planning and design services contract for a new court, fire and police facility on Ga. 9.
Cooper Carry Inc. of Atlanta submitted the winning proposal of 11 responses to the city’s request for qualifications, staff said. Design work is to begin within 30 days and be completed within 60 days of the contract award.
The proposed campus will house the Milton Police Department and Milton Municipal Court in one building and a three-bay fire station in another on land the city purchased in 2011 at 13690 State Highway 9.
The police and court currently are at 13000 Deerfield Parkway. City administrative offices recently moved from the building to a new City Hall in the Crabapple District.
