$1 million in pot seized from truck in south Fulton

April 24, 2010More than $1 million worth of marijuana was seized from a tractor-trailer in south Fulton County Thursday night, WSB-TV has reported.
The incident happened in Palmetto and is considered a record bust for the small town, authorities told WSB.
Federal agents seized 1,700 pounds of the drug and arrested one man, WSB said. Officials have not released his name.
The marijuana, was hidden in what’s considered a drop-off area of the truck, Palmetto Police Department Assistant Chief John Cooper told WSB.
The amount that was taken has a street value of $1.2 million, WSB said.
The bust was a joint operation between officers from the Palmetto police department, Fayette and Coweta counties and the Georgia State Patrol.
