Demolition will start this week to kick off a $11.3 million renovation of Marietta High School’s Northcutt Stadium on Polk Street.

Completion is expected before the first home game next year.

The update of the 74-year-old stadium includes replacing the visitor stands, two-story press box, scoreboard, electrical and plumbing. Nine concrete rows on the home side will also be removed to widen the field. SPLOST funds will cover $7.5 million and Marietta City Schools will pay $3.8 million.
