The proposed military high school that DeKalb County school officials had hoped to open with the help of the U.S. Marine Corps this fall may open next year instead.

Officials on Friday announced that the planned opening in August of the discipline-oriented institution was not "feasible."

On Tuesday, school system spokesman Dale Davis clarified the plans: School officials are still negotiating with the Marines to open the school in the fall of 2010, he wrote in a news release, but "there is no confirmation ... that DeKalb County School System will in fact do so."
