Milford Park will see the completion of improvements by Cobb County.

The Cobb County Board of Commissioners has approved two contracts under the 2011 PARKS Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax program:

Working with the volunteer athletic association active in the park, 3025 Hicks Road, Marietta, Cobb staff has identified a number of features to be redeveloped. Most of these improvements have been completed under an earlier contract, and these contracts will complete the work at Milford Park, according to Cobb PARKS Director Jimmy Gisi.

A pre-engineered metal maintenance building will provide secure storage for PARKS maintenance materials and equipment. The new building will be subdivided to allow a separate, secure area for storage of program-related materials for the volunteer association. Also, a replacement “press box” will be constructed behind home plate at the park’s main tournament field. The ground floor will provide a small area for additional storage, and exterior stairs will lead to a covered score stand on the roof.

No new maintenance or operational costs are associated with this project.
