UPDATE: The restaurant has been re-inspected and scored a 94/A.

ORIGINAL STORY: On the eighth day of this year, G's Midtown was perfect in the eyes of health inspectors. No violations were found, resulting in a 100/A score, according to the Jan. 8 report.

But when inspected Wednesday evening, the gastropub received a 30/U, with officials marking more than 25 violations.

Officials reported offenses that ranged from a refrigeration unit leaking water on uncovered chicken to finding molded chicken kabobs in the walk-in cooler.

Rusty Shelby, a manager, said Thursday afternoon that the issues had already been resolved. He said the restaurant was re-inspected at 10 a.m. and received a 94.

A new report is not yet available online.

G's Midtown, located at 219 10th St., is operated by Communitas Hospitality. The 16-year-old restaurant underwent a renovation and name change (it was formerly Gilbert's Cafe & Bar) in late 2013.

The company also owns nearby 10th & Piedmont and Hobnob Neighborhood Tavern.
