An evening 5k race, followed by a block party and a free movie, will be held Friday in downtown Alpharetta. The city and the Alpharetta Rotary Club organized "A Midsummer Night's Mayor's Run & Fun" to help raise money for Stand Up For Kids, North Fulton Community Charities, Habitat for Humanity and other charities.

A fun run, which costs $25, starts at 7 p.m. The race, a Peachtree Road Race qualifier which costs $30, starts at 7:45 p.m. The raffle winner of two iPads will be announced after the race, and the movie "Mirror Mirror" starts on an inflatable screen on Milton Avenue at 9 p.m. Information: www.mayorsrunandfun.com.
