Grady Memorial Hospital unveiled its newly renovated and expanded trauma center Friday.
The $7 million Marcus Trauma Center project increased the number of trauma bays from four to seven and added eight minor to moderate trauma rooms. The Marcus Foundation donated $20 million to Grady in 2009 to improve emergency care for trauma and acute neurological injury victims. The Marcus Stroke and Neuroscience Center opened in March of last year. Grady receives about 3,000 major trauma cases each year. MISTY WILLIAMS

Zoo Atlanta said goodbye to Zuri, its 1-year-old female giraffe, earlier this week. The 10-foot-tall giraffe was moved to Rolling Hills Wildlife Adventure in Salina, Kan., on the recommendation of the Giraffe Species Survival Plan. Zuri was the first giraffe calf born at Zoo Atlanta and is the half-sister of 3-month-old Lily, who is currently on display daily in the zoo’s African Plains habitat. MELISSA RUGGIERI

Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund and the HISTORY channel will host the Call for Photos campaign, a national program that seeks to gather photos to match every one of the 58,272 names on the wall of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. The event is Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 10 a.m. at Centennial Olympic Park. Photos of loved ones who died in Vietnam will be scanned on site.
