Average gas prices across metro Atlanta have dropped about a nickel in a week to $3.31 a gallon, but some stations are selling regular unleaded for more than a dime lower than that price.

Atlanta's average price Friday morning was 14 cents cheaper than the national average of $3.45 a gallon, according to atlantagasprices.com, a website that tracks prices.

The lowest prices reported by the website early Friday were $3.15 at a Citgo station in Cumming and $3.18 at several stations in Morrow.

The average price a month ago was $3.24 a gallon.

All of those prices are still way up from a year ago, when metro Atlantans were paying an average of $2.68 a gallon, according to the website.

One factor pushing oil prices down, experts say, is the economic uncertainty in Europe. Also, demand in the U.S. is down nearly 10 percent from this time last year.
