The Region 3 EMS Service of the Year Award recently was presented to Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service of Marietta by the Georgia Office of EMS and Trauma Region 3 Emergency Medical Services Council at the Region 3 EMS banquet in Atlanta.

The Region 3 EMS Council is a government agency responsible for overseeing ambulance and medical first-responder operations throughout the greater metro Atlanta area counties, including Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton, Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale.

Region 3 consist of 69 ambulance providers and 35 Medial First Responder Services, covering a population of approximately 4 million residents over 2,341 square miles.

Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service is a private organization that provides 9-1-1 ambulance response and transport, basic life support, advanced life support and specialty care inter-facility transport services, including critical care, bariatric care and ECMO care transport services throughout the greater metro Atlanta area and northwest Georgia.

Also, Metro Atlanta Ambulance is the official stadium medical services provider for Atlanta Braves baseball at SunTrust Park and Kennesaw State University Athletics at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

With another Cobb connection, Metro Atlanta Ambulance operates the Metro Atlanta EMS Academy, a CoAEMSP accredited consortium with Kennesaw State University WellStar School of Nursing, to provide EMT, EMTA and Paramedic training courses.
