2 men exchange gunfire on DeKalb street, police say

One man was critically wounded and another was being sought Thursday afternoon after the two exchanged gunshots on the 4900 block of Memorial Drive in DeKalb County, police said.

DeKalb County police received a call about 2:45 p.m. that an argument between two men had escalated, with the two pulling out weapons and exchanging gunfire, according to DeKalb police spokeswoman Mekka Parish.

One man was struck, Parish said. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. His identity was not disclosed.

The other man fled the scene. DeKalb detectives were not sure if he had been shot also.

The investigation is continuing.
