Three men have been charged in an early-morning armed robbery in a parking lot near Duluth's Gwinnett Place Mall.

According to Gwinnett County police, the victim was sitting in his car outside 2180 Pleasant Hill Road around 3 a.m. Monday when another vehicle pulled up alongside his.

"The driver got out of the vehicle, walked over to him and asked for directions," Cpl. Michele Pihera said in a news release. "At the same time, another occupant exited the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle then pointed a firearm at the victim and told him to empty his pockets."

The victim's cellphone and wallet were stolen, and the suspects drove away toward I-85. The victim, however, was able to get the suspects' license plate number and called 911.

A nearby officer spotted the car and pulled it over on I-85 southbound. All three men inside — 18-year-old Sakai Cook, 17-year-old Zion Clemons and 21-year-old Jarren Pritchett — were arrested and charged with armed robbery. Pritchett was charged with additional offenses related to a stolen gun found in the car, police said.
