The jackpot for Friday's Mega Millions lottery climbed to $105 million after no player matched all six numbers drawn Tuesday night.

Two Georgia Lottery players came close, matching the first five numbers drawn Tuesday night -- 2, 21, 25, 45 and 50 -- but missing on the "Mega Ball" of 21. Those tickets are worth $250,000 each.

The top prize in the twice-weekly game has been climbing steadily since Sept. 1, when Wayne Reece, a contractor from the Sharpsburg in Coweta County, matched all six numbers and won a $12 million jackpot.

On August 28, two players in California and New York split a $336 million Mega Millions jackpot.

Mega Millions is also played in Virginia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas and Washington state.
