North Fulton residents can get an update Thursday on the new Milton Library, which is being built through a bond referendum. The project’s architectural and engineering team from Stevens and Wilkinson, in association with 720 Design, will give a progress report and answer questions.

Fulton County is in the midst of a $275 million library building program that, in its first phase, will add eight new libraries and expand two. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Milton City Hall, 13000 Deerfield Parkway, Suite 107. Information: 404-730-1777 or www.afpls.org.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
