A study focusing on the connection between land use, transportation and economic development will be the subject of a public discussion at 6 p.m. Thursday at City Hall in Peachtree City.

The Livable Centers Initiative will center on plans for improving the congested Ga. 74/54 intersection, extending east to Lake Peachtree, south to Paschall Road, north to Abedeen Parkway and west to the Fayette/Coweta line. The city has hired a planning team to update a 2001 LCI and remain consistent with program goals set by the Atlanta Regional Commission. The plan will establish a community vision and create policies and programs based on public input. Updates to the city’s zoning regulations may be part of the implementation plan.

A survey at www.peachtreecitylci.com lets residents, commuters and visitors rate the status of accessibility, traffic congestion, connectivity and related issues anonymously, and a blog on the same site notes the activities of the LCI Core Team, composed of residents, property owners, advocates, developers and designers.
