If any Sandy Springs residents are looking for some face-to-face time with the men and women who enforce the law in the city, Thursday morning is a good opportunity for that.

And as a bonus, there’s coffee.

SoHo Cafe & Bakery is hosting “Coffee with a Cop” on Aug. 10 from 7 to 9 a.m. The bakery at 334 Sandy Springs Circle offers bagels, pastries, sandwiches and more.

Events like this one in Sandy Springs have become popular around the country. They are meant to be casual, conversational and strengthen community relationships between citizens and law enforcement.

For this event, there's an incentive for the residents attending too. Sandy Springs police will hold a raffle for a free video doorbell from Ring.com. When visitors to your home ring the doorbell, a camera and smartphone app will allow the homeowner to hear and see who is there.

For more information, visit the event Facebook page.
