Meet Ben Brasch, the AJC's Fulton County Government reporter.

Ben is a proud native of St. Petersburg, Fla. who graduated from the University of Florida with a journalism degree — and is often reminded of that as the Florida-Georgia game approaches.

He produced award-winning work at multiple newspapers in Florida before coming to Georgia in August 2016.

Ben helped form The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Hyperlocal news team, which changed how the newspaper approached online community news. He began covering Cobb County, including how the Atlanta Braves stadium affected the area, before moving to the Fulton County beat.

Over the past year, Ben has been tracking big development in Alpharetta, struggles with transparency in Roswell government and rising residential real estate prices in Sandy Springs that is squeezing the stock of affordable housing.

Ben loves to cook and see live comedy, but hopes his food isn’t laughable. You shouldn’t hesitate to send him your recipes and news tips.
