If you're looking for a companion for your summer adventures, DeKalb has quite a few contenders.

LifeLine Animal Project, a nonprofit organization, manages DeKalb County Animal Services and is running a special adoption fee through the month of July. The "Celebrate their Independence" special means all dogs over 25 pounds and all cats are only $17.76 to adopt. This reduced fee includes spay/neuter, vaccinations and a microchip to keep up with your pet.

Watch the video above to check out seven dogs ready for adoption right now at DeKalb County Animal Services. Call 404-294-2165 for more information about any particular dog — they know them by name.

Please note that pets featured in the video may no longer be available after publication of this article. Go online for a complete, updated list of the adoptable dogs at DeKalb Animal Services. They don't just have dogs — check out their cats, too!

Don't live in DeKalb County? LifeLine Animal Project also manages Fulton County Animal Services and is running the same $17.76 special adoption fee there.
