Dijla Café & Lounge

3711 North Decatur Road Suite 116

Decatur, GA 30032

65/U

A Mediterranean café in Decatur failed a recent health inspection for many code violations it had been cited for in its last inspection.

Dijla Café & Lounge at 3711 North Decatur Road Suite 116 received a 65/U on its routine health inspection Thursday. The restaurant previously scored a 72/C on its inspection in December 2015.

Half of the health code violations found Thursday were also noted in the restaurant's December inspection.

Several food items — including tofu, tomatoes, cheese and cooked beef — were not stored properly or kept at low enough temperatures for safe consumption.

The inspector observed eggs that weren’t separated from ready-to-eat foods in the refrigerator, and also noted the hand sink in the kitchen wasn’t accessible to employees to wash their hands. Both were repeat violations.

The inspector also found a large bag of dried beans on the floor in the main kitchen. All foods are required to be kept at least six inches above the ground, and this was a new violation.

Management at Dijla Café & Lounge was not immediately available for comment.

A follow-up inspection is scheduled for Aug. 18, 2016.
