Got drugs? The Johns Creek Police Department wants them.

No, really.

As part of a federal initiative, Johns Creek police will participate in National Drug Take Back Day on April 29. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that Saturday, metro Atlanta residents can take their unwanted and expired prescription drugs to the Target in Johns Creek at 5950 State Bridge Road.

There, police will be set up and accepting expired, unwanted or excess substances and medicines. Residents can dump their drugs anonymously.

Last year, Johns Creek police collected almost 1,000 pounds worth of unused prescription and over-the-counter drugs, said Mashusudana Meberg, a spokesperson for Johns Creek police.

For more information, contact Johns Creek police at 678-474-1607.
