The first planned electric vehicle charging station in McDonough was scheduled to be installed June 17 at the city’s welcome center, 5 Griffin Street on the square, according to a statement released by the city.

Some preliminary work running lines to support the station has already been completed. City officials have expressed how important having this service available for citizens who currently have electric vehicles is and how vital it will become as that number increases.
