The McDonough City Council voted at its Sept. 17 regular meeting to approve a rezoning from OI (office-institutional) to C-1 (neighborhood commercial) for property located at 114 Jonesboro Street, in the city’s Downtown/Main Street District.

The request was made by McDonough Properties LLC and, according to city documents, was “to allow for rental opportunities to a more diverse tenant base that aligns with the city’s revitalization efforts of the Downtown/Main Street District.”

There was no public comment either for or against the request during the required public hearing, and there were no council votes in opposition.
