Mayor picks prosecutor for judgeship

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed on Friday appointed a Fulton County prosecutor to serve on the Municipal Court bench.

Christopher Evan Ward, a chief senior assistant district attorney, is a former senior staff attorney for Georgia Power. Ward obtained his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College and his law degree from the University of Miami and is a former public defender. An Atlanta native, Ward thanked Reed "for this honor and privilege of serving as the next judge in the Municipal Court in Atlanta."
