Marietta street closed for gas leak

The Marietta Police Department closed Fairground Street from North Marietta Parkway to Ramona Street for about three hours starting at midday Thursday due to a natural gas leak at Morningside Drive.

The road was expected to be reopened around 3:30 p.m. The gas leak was caused from construction in the area. Citizens and motorists were asked to use Cobb Parkway as an alternative.
