Marietta Board of Education members voted 5-0 recently to spend $79,550 for Scholastic Common Core Code X curriculum. Absent were Vice Chair Jason Waters of Ward 2 and Tom Cheater of Ward 6.

Questioning why this curriculum was taking priority, Ward 4’s Jill C. Mutimer said, “Don’t all the teachers want it? This sounds great.”

The English language arts curriculum for grades 6 to 8 is the first one ready by a publisher. Also, an interactive digital version will be available for students to use at home.
