The next Pastor’s Police Academy by the Marietta Police Department is open for registration and will be starting April 3.

The free class will meet for six consecutive Tuesday nights from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. April 3 through May 8.

This academy is designed to provide faith-based leaders with insight into various aspects of policing.

Applicants must be active faith-based leaders at faith-based organizations within the city of Marietta.

Requests to participate are not a guarantee of entry into this course.

Topics will include police ethics, community outreach, judgmental use of force, drug trends, gangs, social media, child crimes, police-media relations, SWAT and traffic stops.

Graduates of this program will be invited to quarterly faith-based leader forums in which the police and the faith-based leaders will discuss important issues affecting the community.
