The Marietta Board of Education agreed 7-0 Tuesday to approve a partnership between the Graduate Marietta Student Success Center at Marietta High School and the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse to provide substance abuse counseling to students.

Through a questionnaire, students will be identified as low to low-moderate risk.

Trained council staff will conduct the student groups.

The partnership includes $20,000 for the program but no cost to Marietta City Schools.

Published council reports may include results from the high school’s participation.
