Marietta will hold a general election Nov. 7 to elect a mayor and seven City Council members.

Qualifying will be held between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Aug. 21-23 (closed noon-1 p.m. for lunch) in the City Clerk’s office, fourth floor, Marietta City Hall, 250 Lawrence St., Marietta.

The qualifying fee for mayoral candidates will be $756 and for each Council candidate $567.

Those elected will serve four-year terms from Jan. 1, 2018 to Jan. 1, 2022.

Salaries will be $25,200 annually for the mayor at $2,100 per month and $160 in expenses.

Each of the seven Council members will receive annual salaries of $18,900 at $1,575 per month and $150 in expenses.
