The Marietta City Council may move ahead Wednesday, Aug.12, with a possible parking deck at the Mill Street lot at Mayor Steve Tumlin’s request.

The council may request city staff to study the possibility and authorize Tumlin to draft a letter of support for the Downtown Marietta Development Authority to buy the land from the state.

Also, the council may decide to advertise the sale of 50 acres owned by the city on Franklin Road.

Council may vote on whether to approve travel and training for any council member who would like to attend the National League of Cities (NLC) Leadership Summit Sept. 16-19 in Orlando, Florida, or the NLC Annual Congress of Cities Nov. 4-7 in Nashville, Tennessee.

The council also may require the city’s various boards to adopt an ethics code.

The work session will be 5:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, the review session at 6 p.m. Wednesday and the council meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday - all at the City Hall Council Chamber, 205 Lawrence St.
