The Marietta City Council will meet at 4:30 p.m. today to discuss the public information campaign for the upcoming $25 million parks bond referendum.

The council is expected to discuss the wording and layout for a “content-neutral” document about the referendum and ways to disseminate the document. The meeting was called late Wednesday afternoon.

The council has argued over almost every aspect of the bond referendum, with the motion to put the issue on the Nov. 3 ballot passing by only a 4-3 vote. The referendum would raise money to improve current parks and buy land for new parks.

The meeting will be held in the fourth-floor meeting room in city hall.
