Marietta Councilman Philip M. Goldstein’s proposal to construct a building on the Marietta Square is expected to be considered by the Marietta City Council at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Council Chamber, City Hall, 205 Lawrence St.

As owner and manager of Marietta Properties, LLC, Goldstein would like to build the three-story, four-sided brick building at 67, 77 and 87 North Park Square and 85 and 89 Root Street, where a hole has been for the last several years.

The city’s Historic Board of Review recommended denial of his request on Feb. 2.
