Registration has opened for the Marietta Citizens’ Government Academy.

This free seven-week course will begin on Feb. 27.

Offered by the city of Marietta, the course is designed to acquaint residents and business owners with the city government’s structure and provide them with information presented by city staff.

Classes will meet in and tour different city facilities at various times and dates.

City employees and department heads not only will give overviews of services provided but also answer questions from participants.

The academy is open to any city resident or business owner over the age of 18.

Concluding the eight sessions, a reception and graduation ceremony will be held on April 10 at the City Council meeting.

Enrollment is limited to the first 25 students to register by Feb. 20 with City Manager Executive Aide Pam Peacock at ppeacock@MariettaGa.gov or online at CityOfMarietta.formstack.com/forms/cga.
