Marietta chooses mayor pro tem, presiding officer

The Marietta City Council has approved Councilman Johnny Walker as this year’s mayor pro tem and Councilwoman Michelle Cooper Kelly as the presiding officer.

Also, Mayor Steve Tumlin has made the following chairman appointments to the city council committees with the council’s consent:

Economic/Community Development - G. A. (Andy) Morris
Finance/Investments - Stuart Fleming
Judicial/Legislative - Philip M. Goldstein
Parks, Recreation and Tourism - Kelly
Personnel/Insurance - Walker
Public Safety - Anthony Coleman
Public Works - Griffin Lee Chalfant Jr.
