Broadview Networks created a map showing each states's biggest company after looking over this year's Fortune 500 companies.
They were interested to find not every state had a company on that list.
“We decided to perform our own research to find the largest company by revenue in each state,” they write on their website.
And they did just that.
Broadview used a database from Hoovers, a D&B Company to find the biggest company in each state "based on the location of the corporate headquarters."
Some fascinating facts came up. In Oklahoma, Love's Travel Stops and Country store topped the list. Costco was a winner in Washington, while Verizon dominated in New York.
No subsidiaries, foreign or branch offices were taken into consideration. Government agencies were also not included.
